Big and beautiful!
Season 4 of Cold War has landed on all platforms, bringing with it a brand new LMG - the MG 82.
The MG 82 is a full-auto light machine gun fire the highest rate of fire in its class. It comes with moderate recoil, moderate and damage and an increased ammo capacity.
While LMGs are sometimes overlooked, this is a nice addition to an underserved category.
There's no doubt a lot of strong weapons in Cold War's multiplayer, so what attachments and loadout should you use on this weapon?
Here's our recommended loadout for the MG 82 and the best attachments.
Best Attachments
For the MG 82, we need to focus on improving the areas its weakest - that being it's slow ADS and sepratic recoil.
While a solid weapon, it's far from the best and is incredibly lethargic. With a good set of attachments, you can negate a lot of the downfalls this weapon possesses.
Here are the best attachments for the MG 82:
- Infantry Compensator (Muzzle)
- 16.4" (Barrel)
- Field Agent Grip (Foregrip)
- Airborne Elastic Wrap (Handle)
- Raider Stock (Stock)
With a gun like this, you'll be better off playing slower and more passive. It's clunky nature makes it too much of a risk to run and gun as there are just too many areas that need improvement, so it's better to focus on those areas that need the most help.
Best Class
Secondary
As we're playing slower with the MG 82, moving around won't be something you do as often. But when the time comes, you'll need a trusty secondary that can get you through the thick of it.
The GALLO SA12 is your best bet. I'd recommend the following attachments:
- Duckbill Choke (Muzzle)
- 24.6" Ranger (Barrel)
- SWAT 5MW Laser Sight (Body)
- STANAG 12 RND Tube (Magazine)
- No Stock (Stock)
Lethal And Tactical
I always believe this comes down to personal preference. But I would opt for a Stimshot and Semtex
The Stimshot is nice to have as you may take some damage during gunfights. That's likely due to its slow ADS time and unpredictable recoil.
The Semtex is a solid all-round choice for any occassion.
Field Upgrade
If we're playing a slower role, using a Field Mic is the strongest option because it will allow you to reposition and get set for oncoming enemies.
Perks
As we've only used five perks, my choice for Wildcard is Perk Greed - meaning I can have up to 6 perks.
I would recommend Flak Jacket, Tactical Mask, Assassin, Scavenger, Ghost and Gung-Ho.
Flak Jacket and Tactical Mask are without a doubt the best perks in slot 1 - they're also great for a low mobility weapon as you won't need to worry about having to move when you get bombarded with grenades.
Assassin and Scavenger is a neccessity with this loadout. Assassin is the strongest Perk 2 and will help you grab a lot more score in games for streaks. While Scavenger is a necessity with this class. Due to the loadout seleciton, you'll likely burn through ammo fast.
As for Perk 3, Ghost is a must to keep you off the enemy radar. Meanwhile, Gung-Ho may seem like an odd choice but suits this class well. It's going to give you more mobility options such as firing your weapon and using equipment while sprinting. It also allows you to move at full speed while reloading, which is great when you run out of ammo and need to get out of the action fast. You'll also be able to switch weapons faster and fire more accurately while sliding.
