Believe it or not, Halo 3 is now 13 years old. The game originally launched back in 2007 for the Xbox 360, and was met with monumental success, making it the best-selling game of that year. Also worth noting, Halo 3 was played online by more than 1 million Xbox Live players within its first 24 hours, setting a new record.

While most games that released in 2007 have long since rode into the sunset, not Halo 3. The game found a second life through release as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One and PC. That collection has led to continued success for Halo 3, so much so that a slew of new customization options are coming, including brand-new weapon skins.
343 Industries Design Director Max Szlagor was part of a Master Chief Collection development update feature on the official Halo website, which is where he revealed the big plans for Halo 3 moving forward. As part of the Season 3 update, players can look forward to new weapon skins, new visors, customization options, nameplate features, and more.

A single image of the Season 3 content was shared, which gives us a sneak peek at what just one of the new weapons skins will look like. It also reveals that weapons from Halo 3: ODST will be available in Halo 3’s multiplayer for the first time ever. 343 Industries is yet to reveal the full slate of weapon skins in terms of total amount and designs, but those details are expected to be shared in the near future. As for when this content will go live, Season 3 will begin with the launch of Halo 3: ODST.
